Supports school-based influenza mass vaccination collaborations between local health departments and elementary and secondary schools for children ages 5-18 years old.

Vaccination programs shall be voluntary with parental or legal guardian consent required before administering influenza vaccines.

Programs coordinate with local health departments, school nurses, school health care programs, and other local entities to implement vaccinations.

Identifies school-based vaccination as an effective strategy to reduce influenza transmission, infection rates, and school absenteeism while building pandemic preparedness infrastructure.

Directs copies of the resolution to be presented to the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Board of Education.
