Congratulates the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) on its 50th anniversary in June 2010, recognizing the organization's 30,000 members across 206 chapters worldwide.

Acknowledges AFP's five decades of work advancing ethical fundraising and supporting over 1 million charities in the United States that provide critical community services.

Notes that annual charitable donations in the United States increased from approximately $10 billion in 1960 to over $300 billion by the time of this resolution.

Applauds AFP's promotion of ethical fundraising standards through its Code of Ethical Principles and Standards, The Donor Bill of Rights, and The Accountable Nonprofit resources.

Calls upon the people of Illinois to promote philanthropy and make donations to charitable organizations in observance of AFP's milestone anniversary.
