Faith Dremmer, age 17, was fatally injured in a head-on collision with a minivan while cycling on rural roads approximately 320 miles south of Chicago during a spring break bike trip.

Gallatin County Coroner Tony Cox happened to be driving past the accident scene shortly after it occurred and was the first person on scene.

Coroner Cox provided emergency medical attention to all three young women found unconscious in a ditch, which saved the lives of the two 18-year-old companions.

House Resolution designates June 1, 2010 as Tony Cox Day in the State of Illinois to recognize and thank Coroner Cox for his heroic life-saving efforts.

A suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to Gallatin County Coroner Tony Cox.
