Honors Beverly Turkal on her retirement from a distinguished career in education spanning multiple decades.

Recognizes her progression from teacher in Cook County and Jasper County to Principal (1979), Director of Buildings and Grounds, and Special Education Coordinator in Jasper County School District.

Acknowledges her service as Assistant Superintendent (1986) and then Superintendent of Robinson School District, followed by roles as Student Teaching Coordinator at Eastern Illinois University and member of Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Board of Trustees (1997-2001).

Commends her appointment to the Illinois State Board of Education by Governor George Ryan (2001-2004), subsequent service as General Manager of Quail Creek Country Club, and three and a half-year tenure as President of Lincoln Trail College where she established a welding program.

Notes her receipt of the EIU Distinguished Graduate Alumni Award in April 2010 and her Bachelor's, Master's, and Specialist Degrees from Eastern Illinois University.
