Congratulates the Grove Players of Downers Grove on their 75th anniversary, established February 17, 1936 as the Grove Players Guild.

Organization evolved from Grove Players Guild (1936) to Downers Grove Little Theatre (1938) to Downers Grove Civic Theatre (1952) to Grove Players (1979), pausing operations during 1943-1946 due to World War II.

Grove Players established a scholarship for high school students excelling in theatre arts at Downers Grove North and South high schools beginning in the 1961-62 season, later named the Lamb/Budach Award.

Expanded programming to include musicals starting with Pajama Game (1966) and Oliver! (1968), and partnered with Downers Grove Park District in 1987-88 to use Lincoln Center as performance venue.

Illinois House directs a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Grove Players as a symbol of esteem and respect for 75 years of providing quality, affordable entertainment to the community.
