Illinois House of Representatives honors Joyce Dugan upon her departure from Uptown United and recognizes her years of community service.

Dugan held positions as Assistant to Alderman Mary Ann Smith of Chicago's 48th Ward and served as President and CEO of Uptown United since 2002, leading projects including redevelopment of the 4619 N. Broadway Building and creation of Community Development Guidelines.

She transitioned from a successful career in real estate, legal, and banking firms (including Jenner and Block and Continental Bank) to focus on public service and community development.

Dugan served in volunteer leadership roles with Sarah's Circle and Community Counseling Centers of Chicago, currently serving as Board Chairperson of the latter organization.

The House congratulates Dugan on her departure and extends wishes for her continued success as she and her husband Tim remain active in the Edgewater and Uptown communities.
