Congratulates Joe Sinkiawic, former mayor of Loves Park, on his 90th birthday on September 11, 2010.

Sinkiawic was born September 2, 1920, to Lithuanian immigrant parents and graduated from Harlem High School in 1938.

Served as a United States Army volunteer following the Pearl Harbor bombing and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois Normal Teacher's College.

Worked as a teacher and coach in Loves Park, then served as principal of North Park Elementary School before becoming an alderman in 1952 and mayor in 1977, retiring in 1997.

Orders a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Sinkiawic as a symbol of respect and esteem.
