Janie Wells was born October 12, 1920, in Summerlin, Mississippi, and married Tomie Wells on May 1, 1937, for 65 years of marriage.

Moved to Illinois in 1939, settling on Chicago's west side, and had two children: Thomas and Judy.

Worked for Ford Motors and Reynolds Aluminum in Argo (1941-1973), and as a domestic engineer in Chicago's western suburbs before retiring in 1986.

Has 9 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren; will receive a suitable copy of the resolution as a symbol of esteem and respect.
