Eunice Borovik, who passed away on June 9, 2010, was honored by the Illinois House of Representatives for her contributions to her community.

She and her late husband Jerry owned and operated Bee Drug Store in Cragin and Borovik Drug Company in Portage Park, which opened in 1922 and operated as an independent community pharmacy until their retirement in 1996.

Served as president of the Portage Park Chamber of Commerce for 21 years starting in 1979, growing the organization from a small merchant association into a significant business organization.

Advocated for streetscape improvements in the early 1980s, worked with the Chicago Police Department's Neighborhood Relations Division to reduce crime, and served on numerous local boards and civic functions.

Survived by her sons George and Andrew, grandsons Jed and Caleb, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
