Congratulates and thanks the members of the "Be a Santa to a Senior" program, a community service initiative combining volunteers from Home Instead Senior Care and various non-profit agencies and businesses to serve senior adults

Recognizes that approximately 441,869 senior adults in Illinois (nearly 28 percent of the state's 1,532,373 people over age 65) live alone and are at risk of loneliness during the holiday season

Acknowledges the program's efforts to provide holiday cheer, gifts, and companionship to isolated and financially disadvantaged senior adults who would otherwise spend the holidays alone

Designates December 2010 as "Be a Santa to a Senior Month" in Illinois in recognition of the program's contributions to senior adults in the state

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to a representative of the "Be a Santa to a Senior" program as a symbol of esteem and respect
