Commends Marsha Zierk for receiving the 2010 Best High School Blood Drive Coordinator Award from the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Centers.

Zierk has organized over 15 blood drives at Burlington Central High School since 2003, collecting more than 1,607 pints of blood with donations more than tripling under her leadership.

Promoted the Heartland Blood Centers' Red Cord Society program, resulting in 9 Burlington Central High School seniors earning the Red Honor Cord by donating blood at least 6 times before graduation.

Achieved 50% participation rate among eligible junior and senior students at Burlington Central High School and organized a July 2009 summer blood drive during her break.

Illinois House of Representatives expresses respect and esteem for Zierk's years of selfless service and commitment to the community through blood donation efforts.
