Illinois House of Representatives expresses condolences for the death of Richard A. Luttrell of Rochester, who died on November 6, 2010.

Luttrell was born September 6, 1948 in Springfield and was a lifelong Springfield area resident who lived in Rochester for the past 20 years.

Served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968 in the 101st Airborne Division and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. 755 and the Military Order of the Purple Heart Association.

Worked as a skydiver, avid fisherman, and retired from the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs as a Public Information Officer in 2002; appeared on NBC's Dateline in 2000.

Survived by his wife Carole, daughter Christina, grandchildren Ashley and Brittany, great-grandchild Mahkayla, and four siblings.
