Congratulates fifth-grade students Makenzie S. Williams from Galesburg and Nolan Byrd from Joliet for winning the Illinois D.A.R.E. design-a-poster contest with a drug-free theme.

Commends all D.A.R.E. students across Illinois and D.A.R.E. officers for choosing to be drug-free.

Recognizes D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) as a police officer-led program founded in 1983 that operates in 75% of U.S. school districts and more than 43 countries worldwide.

Directs that suitable copies of the resolution be presented to the two winning students as a symbol of respect and esteem.
