Congratulates the Grocery Merchandising Association (GMA) on its 100th anniversary, with roots tracing back to the Grocery Manufacturers Sales Executives Club (GMSE) founded in 1910.

Recognizes the 2003 merger between GMSE and the Merchandising Executives Club (MEC), which was founded in 1953 to provide marketing and merchandising programs for the food distribution industry.

Acknowledges GMA's diverse membership of consumer product companies, retailers, wholesalers, food brokers, and marketing/advertising firms that support the food industry.

Recognizes GMA's sponsorship of charitable events that raise awareness and funds for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Northern Illinois Food Bank, and Illinois Food Retailers Association Education Foundation.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to the Grocery Merchandising Association as a symbol of respect and esteem.
