Congratulates Walter Payton College Preparatory High School in Chicago for winning the top award in the Intel Schools of Distinction contest for innovative math and science programs.

Notes that more than 99% of Payton students meet or exceed State math standards and 98% graduate, with strong performance in AP courses and academic competitions.

Recognizes the school's diverse student body representing youth from more than 100 elementary schools across Chicago, with focus on mathematics, science, and world languages.

Acknowledges the school won $175,000 in total awards, including $160,000 in cash grants and curriculum materials from the Intel Foundation plus an additional $15,000 Star Innovator Award.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Ellen Estrada, principal of Walter Payton College Prep.
