Helen Ax was born December 11, 1910, in Edwardsville as the second oldest of seven children.

Married Archie Fesser of Taylorville and has lived in the same Evergreen Park home for 65 years.

Worked as a clerical staff member at Rogers Park Community Hospital, then as an Avon representative from January 1960 to January 2009.
