Congratulates Ariel Michalek of Oswego East High School on winning the Illinois High School Association Class 3A girls cross country state championship on November 6, 2010.

Ariel finished with a time of 16:32, the second fastest girls time ever recorded on the Peoria course at Detweiller Park and the fastest in 3A history since the race changed to 3 miles.

She was a 3-time State qualifier, 3-time conference champion, holds an Oswego East High School record, and was selected the Beacon News Cross Country Athlete of the Year in 2010.

First Wolves athlete to win a State championship, breaking away from a Hinsdale Central runner in the final 800 yards of the three-mile race.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Ariel Michalek as a symbol of respect and esteem.
