SB0255 Summary

• Adds new subsection (l-5) requiring electricity providers to allow meter aggregation for renewable energy facilities owned or operated by school districts, community college districts, or units of local government under intergovernmental agreements.

• Mandates electricity providers offer 1:1 kilowatt-hour credits to all parties of the intergovernmental agreement for energy produced by eligible renewable electrical generating facilities.

• Requires electricity providers to carry forward excess kilowatt-hour credits to subsequent billing periods until all credits are used or the annualized period ends.

• Prohibits electricity providers from discontinuing meter aggregation as long as the intergovernmental agreement remains in effect.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
