SB1680 Summary

• Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to allow vehicles to be inspected outside their normal 2-year emission inspection schedule if the owner expects to be out of state during the scheduled inspection.

• Requires vehicle owners to submit a sworn affidavit to the Agency stating they expect to be out of state during their normal scheduled inspection, submitted at least 30 days before the scheduled inspection date.

• Applies to both the computer-matched inspection system under subsection (a) and the registration denial inspection system under subsection (b).

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
