IL SB1785

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code Section 9A-11 to establish a sliding scale co-payment formula for child care services based on family income relative to the federal poverty level.

Sets co-payment amounts as: 3% of income up to 100% of federal poverty level, plus 7% of income between 100-150% of poverty level, plus 12% of income between 150-200% of poverty level.

Establishes a minimum co-payment of $1 per week for families with countable income below 50% of the federal poverty level.

Requires the Department to develop a plan by February 1, 2008 to revise the co-payment scale, including findings on child care costs as a percentage of family income and recommendations for affordability improvements.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
