IL SB2168

Amends the Election Code Section 20-1 to clarify definitions of citizens eligible to vote under federal election provisions.

Removes the requirement that voting-age dependents of Armed Forces or Merchant Marine members must have previously resided in Illinois to qualify as members of the United States Service.

Defines "Member of the United States Service" to include active duty Armed Forces members, Merchant Marine members, their spouses and dependents, plus U.S. government employees stationed outside U.S. territorial limits.

Maintains existing definitions for citizens temporarily residing outside the U.S. and non-resident civilian citizens who previously maintained Illinois residency.
