IL SB2533

Amends the Child Death Review Team Act to reduce the pilot program duration in the Southern Region from 3 years to 18 months.

Establishes a Child Death Investigation Task Force to develop and implement protocols for investigating sudden, unexpected, or unexplained deaths of children under 18 years of age in the Southern Region.

Requires law enforcement agencies, hospitals, and coroners to promptly notify the Task Force of child deaths or serious life-threatening injuries to children.

Mandates the Task Force submit reports with findings and recommendations to the Child Death Review Teams Executive Council, the Department Director, DCFS Inspector General, State's Attorney, and relevant State legislators.

Changes the report deadline from January 1, 2010 to July 1, 2011 with recommendations for statewide implementation of child death investigation protocols.
