• Requires accident and health insurance policies and managed care plans to cover A1C testing (glycosylated hemoglobin testing) at least 4 times per calendar year for insureds over age 40 or with body mass index greater than 25.

• Applies to policies amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after the bill's effective date across multiple insurance types including group and individual coverage.

• Amends seven state insurance-related acts: State Employees Group Insurance Act, Counties Code, Illinois Municipal Code, School Code, Illinois Insurance Code, Health Maintenance Organization Act, Limited Health Service Organization Act, Voluntary Health Services Plans Act, and Illinois Public Aid Code.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
