• Amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act by increasing the maximum occupancy limit for "shared housing establishments" from 16 to 24 persons.

• Requires at least 80% of residents in shared housing establishments to be 55 years of age or older and unrelated to the owners and one manager.

• Maintains that shared housing establishments must provide services based on a social model, community-based residential care with activities of daily living assistance, and mandatory services including meals, housekeeping, laundry, 24-hour security, and emergency communication systems.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
