SB3545 Summary

• Prohibits insurance carriers from charging copayments or deductibles for prescriptions or devices prescribed by a physician for the treatment of psoriasis.

• Applies to state employees group insurance, county health insurance plans, municipal health insurance plans, school employee insurance, health maintenance organizations, and voluntary health services plans.

• Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971, Counties Code, Illinois Municipal Code, School Code, Illinois Insurance Code, Health Maintenance Organization Act, and Voluntary Health Services Plans Act to include new Section 356z.19 establishing the psoriasis coverage requirement.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.

• Includes a nonacceleration clause stating the Act does not accelerate or delay the effect of changes made by this Act or provisions from other Public Acts.
