IL SB3589

Increases the minimum size of the Illinois Veterans Advisory Council from 17 to 21 members.

Adds four new positions to the council: one appointee each from the Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard, the Illinois Attorney General, the Illinois Secretary of State, and the Director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Adds one new position for each military family organization chartered by the federal government to appoint a member to the council.

Council members serve without compensation or reimbursement and cannot be employees or representatives of the Department of Veterans' Affairs.

Council meets quarterly and must submit annual reports to the Governor and General Assembly on issues addressed, actions taken, and recommendations for future action.
