IL SB3713

Amends the University of Illinois Trustees Act to require that one of the 9 Governor-appointed Board members must be involved in agricultural pursuits.

Maintains existing Board composition of the Governor plus at least 12 trustees, with 9 appointed by the Governor with Senate consent and student trustees selected from each campus.

Preserves student trustee provisions including one-year terms, limited voting rights (only one student trustee has binding vote), and eligibility requirements (Illinois residency, 2.5 GPA minimum, full-time enrollment).

Retains political party affiliation limit of no more than 5 of 9 appointed trustees from the same party and residency requirement for all appointed trustees.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
