IL SB3802

Amends Section 12-603 of the Illinois Vehicle Code concerning seat safety belts in motor vehicles.

Makes a technical correction to language regarding the sale of 1965 or later model motor vehicles of the first division, which must be equipped with 2 sets of front seat safety belts.

Maintains exemption for motorcycles from seat safety belt requirements.

Preserves restrictions on drivers under 18 years old regarding passenger capacity in front seats, with exceptions for certain second division vehicles with gross vehicle weight ratings of 8,000 pounds or less.

Authorizes the Department to establish performance specifications for seat safety belts and their installation.
