Recognizes women's leadership roles in major social movements including abolitionism, emancipation, labor rights, civil rights, and peace movements

Notes that women's contributions have been consistently overlooked and undervalued in the teaching and study of American history

Urges Illinois citizens to educate themselves about the importance of women in history, current society, and the state's future
