Illinois Senate expresses mourning for United States Marine Corps Corporal Christopher J. Boyd, formerly of Palatine, who was killed in action on August 19, 2010, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan

Corporal Boyd was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton, California

He was a 2006 graduate of Palatine High School who participated in football, lacrosse, and wrestling, and received a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal

Corporal Boyd is survived by his parents Kenneth and Patricia Boyd, his wife Danielle, and their twin sons Jack and Evan

Senate honors Corporal Boyd's memory and service to his country and directs a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to his family
