Roger Allen Ness of Newark passed away on August 10, 2010, at age 59.

Worked as a barber for 40 years at the City Barbershop in Geneva and Country Cousins Hair Place in Newark, known for providing the fastest haircuts.

Served on the Newark Village Board and as Mayor of Newark for 20 years; was also a member of the Newark Lutheran Church and Newark Fire Department.

Inducted into the I.B.C.A. Hall of Fame in 2000 for over 23 years of service as scorekeeper for Newark High School basketball games and coached Little League and Pony League.

Illinois Senate expresses mourning for his passing and directs that a copy of this resolution be presented to his surviving family: wife Nancy, sons Doug and Tom, and grandchildren Addison, Cohen, and Bryson.
