Senate Resolution mourning the death of Matthew Edward Ryan of Joliet, who passed away on September 13, 2010.

Ryan served as Chief of Staff for Will County Executive Larry Walsh and worked with multiple local organizations including the Joliet Chamber of Commerce, Easter Seals, and the Joliet Development Arsenal Authority.

Ryan had extensive political experience, including managing U.S. Representative George Sangmeister's successful 1992 campaign and serving as campaign manager for Paul Vallas's 2001 gubernatorial campaign.

Ryan is survived by his wife Angela Welsh (married 1993), parents Robert and Mary Jane Ryan, sister Susan Martin with nieces Anne and Tess, and sister Kathleen Lang with niece Leslie.

Illinois Senate directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ryan's family as a symbol of sympathy.
