Owen K. Richardson of Spring Grove passed away on July 27, 2010, at age 88 (born December 15, 1921, in Solon Mills).

Richardson was a lifelong farmer who raised dairy cows and steer, grew grain and Christmas trees, and embraced innovative agricultural practices.

He was an active community member who hosted foreign exchange students, served as a lifetime Rotary Club member, and sang in the choir at Community Church of Richmond.

Richardson was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (married 65 years), brother Francis, and sister Della Medley.

The Illinois Senate expresses condolences to Richardson's five children, thirteen grandchildren, and extended family, with a copy of the resolution to be presented to his family.
