Donald Albert "Doc" Guehler of Somonauk passed away on September 5, 2010, at age 85.

Served as a family farmer, seed corn dealer, insurance representative, and real estate agent; graduated from Somonauk High School in 1942.

Held leadership positions including DeKalb County Farm Bureau vice president for decades, Somonauk School Board president, Somonauk Music Boosters president, and St. John's Lutheran Church congregation president.

Active in community as an emcee for hundreds of Farm Bureau, community, and church events, and performed in "Doc and the Country Boys" musical and variety show.

Survived by four children (Dennis, Roger, Rhonda, and Sherrill), four grandchildren, and extended family; preceded in death by his wife Shirley on June 4, 2010.
