Illinois Senate mourns the death of Vern L. Aldridge of Maywood, who passed away on September 29, 2010.

Aldridge was born June 3, 1938, graduated from Argo Community High School in 1956, served in the U.S. Army until 1979 with the rank of Sergeant, and led R.O.T.C. training at Dunbar High School for over twenty years.

He was married to Heloise for 54 years and was active in Antioch Baptist Church, serving as Chairman of the Trustee Ministry and President of the Laymen Ministry.

Aldridge became a Mason in 1959 and held multiple leadership positions including Worshipful Master of Jacob Lodge #8, Most Worshipful Grand Master of Hiram Grand Lodge, Supreme Secretary General, and Supreme Imperial Potentate.

A suitable copy of this resolution shall be presented to Aldridge's family as a symbol of the Senate's sincere sympathy.
