Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of Christine Alexander of Glenwood, who was born January 26, 1922 in McNeil, Arkansas.

Christine Alexander married Fred Alexander on December 25, 1940, graduated from APEX School of Cosmetology, and owned a beauty salon in her home.

She was active in community service with the Greater Lawndale Community and 1800 Drake Block Club, winning the Block Club Beautification Award in 1956.

Christine Alexander was a long-time parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and later Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, serving in the Altar and Rosary Society and other ministries.

She is survived by three daughters, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
