Illinois Senate mourns the death of Roman Miller of Waukegan, who passed away on August 6, 2010.

Miller served as a Communications Specialist with the United States Army Air Force from 1942 to 1946 and worked as a Business Education teacher and administrator in the Waukegan Unit School District from 1955 until his retirement in 1981.

Miller held leadership positions in numerous civic and community organizations, including President of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association, Trustee of the Illinois Teachers Retirement System, President of Waukegan Crime Stoppers, and President of the Waukegan Library Foundation.

Miller received an undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University and advanced degrees from the University of Minnesota and Northwestern University.

A suitable copy of the resolution shall be presented to Miller's family as a symbol of the Senate's sincere sympathy.
