Russell Christian of Grayslake died on August 8, 2010, at age 81.

Served as Avon Township Supervisor from 1989 to 2006, representing Round Lake communities, Hainesville, Grayslake, Third Lake, and surrounding unincorporated areas.

Held multiple leadership positions including Grayslake Village Trustee for 12 years, Executive Director of the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce, and Founding Member and Chairman of the Grayslake Economic Development Corporation.

Active in veterans organizations as a Charter Member of VFW Ron Hill Memorial Post 2245 and served in the U.S. Army's 11th Airborne Division.
