Claude Gamble passed away on October 22, 2010; he was born January 13, 1919, in Clinton, Mississippi.

Gamble enlisted in the United States Army on June 10, 1941, and served with an honorable discharge on December 5, 1945, receiving multiple military honors including the American Defense Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and World War II Victory Medal.

After military service, Gamble worked at Pullman and American Steele in Hammond, Indiana for 25 years before retiring and moving to Chicago with his wife Dorothy.

Gamble is survived by seven children, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, and extended family members.

The Illinois Senate expresses sympathy to the family of Claude Gamble and directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family.
