Illinois Senate expresses mourning for the death of Harold L. Pruitt of Carlinville, who died on July 18, 2010.

Pruitt was born June 8, 1926 in Neosho, Missouri, served in the Merchant Marines during World War II transporting troops, and married Juanita E. "Nita" Watkins on October 20, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas.

Pruitt worked as a salesman for Valley Steel and Central Illinois Steel Company in Carlinville and was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church in rural Raymond.

Pruitt is survived by his son Gary, daughter Gloria, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Senate directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Pruitt's family as a symbol of sympathy.
