John Karnezis died on October 24, 2010; he was born July 23, 1966, to Hon. Themis Karnezis and Charlotte Dolan Karnezis, and married Dena Turnquist in November 2005.

Attended Christ the King Elementary School and Marist High School, then University of Illinois in Champaign (graduating 1988) and Loyola Law School.

Worked as Assistant State's Attorney for Cook County from 1991 to 2000, then as a litigator at Clifford Law Offices for 9 years, advancing to partner, and founded law firm Pullano and Karnezis in 2009.

Named one of top 40 attorneys under 40 by Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and an Illinois "super lawyer" annually from 2005 to 2010; served as adjunct professor of trial advocacy at John Marshall Law School and member of multiple bar associations.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to surviving family members including wife Dena, sons John and Michael, and extended family.
