James L. McCabe of Arlington Heights died on November 23, 2010; he was born July 11, 1931, in Chicago.

Graduated from DePaul University in 1954 where he played basketball under coach Ray Meyer; served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Worked as a retired attorney and former partner at McCabe and Venit law firm in Chicago; coached youth sports and was an active member and lector at Our Lady of the Wayside Church in Arlington Heights.

Survived by his wife Mary Kay (married September 20, 1958), seven children, and sixteen grandchildren.

Illinois Senate expresses mourning for his passing and directs presentation of a suitable copy of this resolution to his family.
