State Board of Education must establish a standard student expulsion policy that applies to all school districts in Illinois.

School districts' pupil discipline policies must conform to the State Board's standard expulsion policy.

School boards must furnish a copy of the district's pupil discipline policy to parents or guardians within 15 days of the school year start or within 15 days of a student transferring into the district, and schools must inform students of the policy contents.

School boards must include provisions in discipline policies to address students at risk for aggressive behavior, including bullying, with procedures for parental notification and early intervention based on community resources.

Parent-teacher advisory committees must work with school boards to develop discipline policy guidelines covering school searches, law enforcement reporting, school bus safety, and risk assessment procedures.
