Amends the Illinois Police Training Act to define part-time police officers as those employed by one or more units of local government for 1,560 hours or less per unit per 12-month period beginning January 1 of any calendar year.

Requires part-time police officers to obtain a certificate from the Board attesting to completion of approved part-time police training, equivalent training, or a waiver based on extensive prior law enforcement experience.

Part-time officers hired after the effective date of the 92nd General Assembly must obtain certification within 18 months of hire and enroll in a Board-approved course within 6 months of active employment.

Officers who fail to complete required training within the applicable time period must forfeit their position, though employing agencies may seek waivers from the Board for good and justifiable reasons.

Removes the provision requiring the Board to adopt rules defining part-time employment, instead establishing a specific statutory definition based on hourly thresholds.
