Amends the Chicago School Code to require the chief executive officer to hold a Master of Education degree and a current teaching certificate issued under the School Code, effective July 1, 2012.

Loss of teaching certificate constitutes automatic resignation from the chief executive officer position and creates a vacancy in the office.

Requires any general superintendent of schools hired after the effective date of this Act to hold a Master of Education degree and a current teaching certificate issued under the School Code.

Loss of teaching certificate for a general superintendent constitutes automatic resignation and creates a vacancy in that position.
