IL HB0225

Amends the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act by modifying the definition of "educational employee" in Section 2 of the Act.

Deletes language that classified graduate assistants primarily performing "pre-professional" duties as students excluded from employee status.

Clarifies that graduate students who are research assistants performing research duties are students (excluded from employee status), while graduate teaching assistants and other graduate assistants remain excluded.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
