IL HB1054

Amends the Counties Code Section 2-1002 to modify public notice requirements for special meetings of county boards in counties under township organization.

Allows public notice of special meetings to be given as prescribed in Section 2.02 of the Open Meetings Act, rather than only through newspaper publication.

Removes the previous requirement that notice be published in a newspaper printed in the county.

Retains existing provisions that special meetings require a written request from at least one-third of board members or the elected county chairman, with notice to all board members.
