IL HB1511

Allows counties with a population between 200,000 and 300,000 to appoint 4 jury commissioners instead of the standard 3, at the discretion of the circuit judges.

In counties with a population of at least 3,000,000, the chief judge may discontinue the appointment of jury commissioners and transfer their functions to a jury administrator.

Jury commissioners in office at the time of discontinuance must complete their remaining terms and follow assignments from the chief judge.

Maintains existing requirements that jury commissioners be chosen without regard to party affiliation and take an oath of office with an approved bond.
