IL HB1556

Amends Criminal Code Section 11-9.4 to make it a Class 4 felony for child sex offenders to knowingly operate, manage, be employed by, or be associated with any county fair when persons under 18 years of age are present.

Adds new subsection (c-9) establishing the same prohibition for child sex offenders at local fairs, defined as events staged by a local municipality where people gather to trade or display goods.

Defines "child sex offender" to include persons convicted of, found not guilty by reason of insanity for, or adjudicated as sexually dangerous persons for specified sex offenses involving minors.

Applies to violations of existing restrictions on child sex offenders regarding parks, schools, child care facilities, internet communication, and residential proximity to victims and child-oriented facilities.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
