• Amends the School Code to prohibit schools from requesting mandate waivers for laws and rules pertaining to physical education.

• Removes previous provisions that allowed physical education waivers to remain in effect for up to 2 school years and be renewed no more than 2 times.

• Schools may still request waivers for other mandates if they can address the mandate's intent more effectively, efficiently, or economically, or to stimulate innovation or improve student performance.

• Maintains existing prohibitions on waivers for special education, teacher certification, teacher tenure and seniority, and No Child Left Behind Act compliance.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
